PALO ALTO, CA -- HP announced the acquisition of Bitfone for an undisclosed amount. In a prepared release, HP stated that the acquisition was part of the company's strategy to grow its mobile enterprise business by adding Bitfone's mobile device management capabilities. The transaction is expected to close in February, 2007, and the company will be integrated into the Handheld unit of HP's Personal Systems Group.
